Roy Palmer: Alexander Technique
Roy qualified as a teacher of The Alexander Technique in 1995 from The Alexander Re-Education Centre, Stoke Mandeville.
Roy is a keen runner, sports fan and published author with over 25 years experience in competitive sport and the last 12 years studying performance enhancement. In common with most sports people, Roy suffered from annoying injury problems, coupled with backache and fatigue, but thought they were just 'normal' until he realised they were caused by his own poor habitual movement patterns.
After developing better movement through the Alexander Technique, he began to enjoy sport again and gave up a career in computing with BT to complete a three year full-time teacher training course. He now teaches The Alexander Technique to people from all walks of life including international sports people, business executives and performing artists for back pain, postural problems and injury prevention.
