Jane Morris: Osteopath
Jane qualified in 1987 and graduated from the British School of Osteopathy, London and is now governed by the General Osteopathic Council. Jane set up practice in 1987 here in the Huntingdon and Godmanchester area. Initially it was purely an osteopathic practice, based in Huntingdon, but I quickly realised that in order to provide a better service that a centre with multiple healthcare disciplines was very necessary. In 2000 the Centre expanded into a multi-disciplinary clinic, providing other services such as Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Alexander Technique, During the 1990’s she was also involved in the education of osteopaths, and taught a range of subjects at the College of Osteopaths. Jane also became involved with the development of the ‘degree’ programmes for the College of Osteopaths in collaboration with the Middlesex University. For many years she have also worked closely with a number of physiotherapists in the area, working at Parks Therapy Centre until 2001. Jane also believes that in order to maximise the benefit to the patient that close communication with GP’s and other healthcare professionals is imperative. In 1993 Jane started practicing at the Ramsey Health Centre, GP practice, and also at the Rainbow GP Surgery in Ramsey. To date she still spends time at the Rainbow Surgery, and in 1998 also started practising at Brampton GP surgery. Jane finds this invaluable to be able to liase with other healthcare professionals directly. In 1999 she became a member of the Acupuncture Association for Chartered Physiotherapists, having completed some of their more western medical Acupuncture training courses. Jane found this a great benefit, integrating it with her existing skills. However in 2004 she also started a training in Traditional Acupuncture at Northern College of Acupuncture in York, becoming a member of the British Acupuncture Council which she completed in 2007. For a number of years she has been specialising in the more complex chronic pain problems, and have liased with Consultant Anaesthetists specialising in chronic pain management.
